SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Housing Project :
Most of the people of Bangladesh are helpless, hardcore poor and shelter less. But shelter is a fundamental right of people. Considering this problem, SATU has helped the shelter less people to construct houses. This project financed by Grihayan Tahabil under Banglaesh Bank, 100 families out of the shelter less, poor and low income group and families affected by river erosion, flood, cyclone, tidal bore and fire from Tangail Sadar and Delduar upazilas have provided with low cost houses. At present, the organization has selected to disburse loan to 200 families for buildup houses in SATU’s 2 (Two) Zones.
Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Program :
Natural disasters are not wholly natural. Anti-natural activities of human beings cause the causes of natural calamities victimizing the people. So, people should be aware to stop ecological balance damaging activities and learn how to survive facing disasters. Bangladesh is very much vulnerable to attack of natural disaster like flood, draught cyclone, tornado, earthquake etc. In fact its people have to live with natural calamities, Bangladesh is situated in the down streams of some international rivers which carry silt from the upstream and silt up the basins of the rivers of Bangladesh part reducing water containing capacity that cause flood and erosion almost every year. In addition trees are cut down to meet the demand of vast growing population and it damages the natural preventions. SATU tries to build up awareness for keeping ecological balance and trains its members on disaster management and preparation.
So the trained members become prepared mentally to cope with the disaster. On the other hand SATU rehabilitate to the severely affected people through providing with dry food, safe drinking water and serves medical treatment with medicine and distributes seed, fertilizer, seedling and disburses micro credit on easy condition for reconstruction of damage shelters, crops, washed away livestock and resume small business that affected by disaster.
SATU Health Program :
Outreach people of the country are deprived to access standard health service from the government institutions at grass root level. Those are unable to access proper treatment through their earning money after meet up daily family needed. Therefore, the communities are unable to lead their life smoothly and come unstuck to access proper and standard health services. In this regard, SATU designed a Health Program to intend implement in its working area initially through 20 Branch Offices among the inhabitant. The organization will collect members from the working area that will access health supports with in the whole year. SATU will establish 20 satellite & static clinic in order to provide qualified and standard frequently health services for a better life and livelihood.
Monitoring, Supervision, Evaluation and Reporting :
By the advice of the Executive Committee, Executive Director administers all the activities of SATU. Monthly Core Staff Meeting presided by the Executive Director at head office level and monthly Zone Coordination Meeting Presided by the Program Director at zone level are held in every month to monitoring the program, evaluate the implementation of the activities of the staff and visited branch offices frequently by the responsible person and reporting to Executive Director regularly. Consulting and evaluating the previous success, failure and drawbacks, the activities of next month are designed.
Future Plan :
SATU makes its future plans emphasizing the socio economic development of the people lived below the poverty line. In this regard, SATU intends to expand its working area by setup branch offices covered by new districts. Intends to organize graduate group members to create entrepreneurship, organize young generation to entrepreneurship development providing with financial supports in social business in order to achieve SDG objectives.
